Imagine you are looking out a window. You see a beautiful park with flowers and trees. There are children laughing and having fun. Someone has a puppy running and playing and you can hear the birds singing. You can see couples walking together that truly love each other. You also see happy families picnicking and enjoying themselves. How do you feel looking out this window?
Now imagine you are looking out a window at the same park and you see some weeds that need to be pulled, trash on the ground and mud. You see people with their heads hanging down and walking alone. There are children squabbling and a couple discussing something that seems very serious. How does this window make you feel?
In your life which window do you look through? One will fill your heart and mind with hope and faith and happiness. The other with fear and doubt and despair. The truth is both scenarios will always exist. It is your focus that matters. Your life can be and is filled with beauty and the wonderful things that are all around you. You just have to look for them and focus on the good. Your future is as bright as your beautiful, hopeful and happy thoughts!
It is so important to train our minds to look for and see the good! Take time every day to write down some things that you have noticed that bring you joy. Here are some prompts to get you started:
Today I saw…
Today I heardβ¦
Today I experiencedβ¦
Today I felt love whenβ¦
Today I felt joy whenβ¦
Today I felt peace whenβ¦

The more you do this the more happy and positive you will be. You will find over time that it becomes much easier to see the good and experience true joy! Hereβs to happy thoughts!

I love this! You’re going to find whatever you’re looking for. Looking for the good in our lives opens the way for more good to come. It starts to cloud out the dark. This is easy when things aren’t too hard, but is so important to pull us through hard times. I also think that seeing it also as a blessing from God (not just luck that is taking place) helps to see that we are a part of a plan that God is control of. He loves us and wants to give us things that will bring happiness and joy to our lives and giving Him the thanks recognizes Him as our loving Heavenly Father who wants to bless and also helps us see how dependent we are to him which keeps us humble, reminding us that we are not the ones who are bringing the good into our lives (although we create that in so many ways, but He is the true source of where that comes from).
It’s so true! Wonderful words of wisdom. Thanks for sharing!
