Do you sometimes feel that you are missing out on enjoying life and the journey? Do you ever find yourself wondering how to enjoy life more? We all have at some point! I’ve got a thought for you today to help with just this. If you make it your new mindset it will transform your life into one of happiness and joy.

Let’s pretend you are planning a vacation, a dream vacation.

Maybe you are driving across the US or touring the UK

This vacation will take an extended amount of time. You plan all the fun places you will stop. All the shops you will visit. Important landmarks you have always wanted to see and the exciting places you want to stop to eat.

Some of those places will be off the beaten path but will be SO worth it. Take a minute and just dream about it for a while.

Life is like a vacation…A DREAM vacation. And last time I checked we only get one!

What are the shops you want to visit, the landmarks you want to see and the places you want to eat? Who will come on this trip with you? How many selfies will you take? How many fabulous memories will you make? How much will you laugh and play and relax?

Have you ever gone on a vacation and forgotten to look up and see the scenery? Did you forget to take in the sights and smells and all that was happening around you? Or did you get so focused on things out of your control that maybe you got cranky or short tempered?

Or maybe you got focused on some of the negative things happening around you that you couldn’t change or fix and you lost some of the joy of your journey. The road was too bumpy or you didn’t have the right directions and got lost.

No matter where we are in life there will be both good and bad to see. If we let ourselves get caught up on the bad we’ll never have time to notice the good. Enjoy your vacation! That gorgeous beauty is everywhere if you simply take the time and make the effort to notice it.

This journey of life is far better than a vacation and there are beautiful things to see and experience all around us. Are there things on your journey that you are putting off? Maybe learning a new hobby, visiting with loved ones, celebrating special days or holidays. Maybe you have always wanted to grow a garden, eat healthily, exercise more or take that dream vacation.

I invite you to start incorporating this belief into your life. Life is a dream vacation! You can set an alarm on your phone to help you remember to enjoy each day. You could make a fun poster or put sticky notes up so help you stay in this mindset. Make sure to surround yourself with people who help you see the good in the world (if you don’t follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest yet we should be friends wink).

As you make an effort to start looking at life as a wonderful vacation, bumpy rides, lost directions and all, your life will transform into one of happiness, contentment, excitement, and joy. You will finally be able to say “I know how to enjoy life!”
